The classes will take place from March to June on alternate Saturdays, specifically from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The location is near Xingtian Temple Station.
The Saturday class concluded when Lara went to Germany last summer. Over the past few months, the children have frequently asked me when they can join Mommy’s class. Since the children are eager to learn, there is no reason why their mother shouldn’t teach it! 💪✍️
Parents who have attended the classes know that Lara adjusts the class content based on current events each month, so I won’t list the classes in advance. Since there are only eight classes, this issue will primarily focus on reviewing European countries, delving deeper into their historical and geographical backgrounds, and exploring current practical issues. The class methodology aims to introduce challenging topics through dialogues and discussions, such as populism, the refugee issue, the EU, and Brexit. These topics are important to understand from an early age, as they can be complex, and it is crucial to foster children’s international perspective in an engaging manner.
At this stage, children don’t need to fully adopt adult ideas or political stances. What they need is a motivation to explore their interests and develop an understanding of different cultures and opinions. This principle underpins the “International Culture Class” and remains the most significant aspect. Though the name has been slightly changed to align with the theme, the class will still include the children’s favorite activities like world puzzles, animal mystery bags, and multilingual picture books.
㊙️ There will be another class scheduled to invite our #sea turtle uncle once again. Perhaps there will be an opportunity to meet a real turtle in person at Ocean University!
(The specific time is still being discussed.)
Due to the distinct content and teaching approach, this class is suitable for children aged 6 and above. Please encourage the children to actively participate in the discussions. 🙋♀️🙋♂️🙋♀️🙋♂️
